Before You Start

Before running the OpenAI SearchBot readiness check, you need a tracked product URL inside NeuraCite. You should also have access to update robots.txt or change CDN and firewall rules if updates are required.

Running The Check

To run the check, open NeuraCite, select a tracked product, and start the OpenAI SearchBot readiness check. NeuraCite will review whether robots.txt appears to allow OAI-SearchBot and show platform-specific recommendations where relevant.

If OAI-SearchBot Is Blocked

If OAI-SearchBot appears to be blocked, you may need to update robots.txt, Cloudflare firewall rules, CDN or WAF bot protection rules, hosting firewall settings, or security plugin settings. WordPress security plugins, for example, may sometimes restrict bot access even when robots.txt appears to allow it.

OpenAI’s SearchBot IP ranges can change over time. If you choose to allowlist IP ranges, they should be reviewed periodically to make sure the rules remain current.
