NeuraCite connects with Cloudflare to help businesses monitor AI crawler and bot activity reaching their websites. This integration is useful for teams that want to understand whether AI bots are visiting their site, which paths they are accessing, and how those requests are being handled.

With Cloudflare connected, NeuraCite can show AI bot request activity and allow users to filter traffic by time range, user agent, path, HTTP status code, request source, and Cloudflare bot detection IDs where available. NeuraCite also includes built-in presets for common AI bots, making it easier to filter traffic from known crawlers.

This integration is especially useful for businesses that want to understand whether AI platforms are technically reaching their website. It can support crawler access reviews, technical SEO audits, AI visibility analysis, and bot monitoring workflows.

Before You Start

Before connecting Cloudflare, you need access to the Cloudflare account that manages the website. The website must already be added to Cloudflare. You will also need the Cloudflare Account ID, Zone ID, and a Cloudflare API token with analytics read access.

The required Cloudflare permission is Account Analytics: Read. The API token must be able to access the account and zone you want to monitor. Without the correct permissions, NeuraCite may not be able to retrieve bot traffic data.

Finding Your Account ID And Zone ID

Your Cloudflare Account ID and Zone ID can be found inside the Cloudflare dashboard. After logging in, select the website or domain you want to connect. Open the dashboard overview and copy both the Account ID and Zone ID.

These IDs must match the same Cloudflare account and website that your API token can access. If the Account ID, Zone ID, and token do not belong to the same account or zone, the connection may fail.

Creating A Cloudflare API Token

To create the API token, open Cloudflare, go to My Profile, and then open API Tokens. Create a new token with analytics read access and make sure it can access the correct account and zone.

After the token is created, copy it and store it securely. NeuraCite will use this token only to retrieve the analytics data required for AI bot tracking.

Connecting Cloudflare

To connect Cloudflare, open NeuraCite and go to the Cloudflare AI Bot Tracking section. Enter the Account ID and Zone ID, optionally add the Zone Name, and paste the Cloudflare API token. Then click Connect Cloudflare.

Once connected, NeuraCite can run bot traffic reports for the selected website. If the connection fails, check that the Account ID, Zone ID, and API token all belong to the same Cloudflare account and that the token has the correct analytics read permission.

Running A Bot Traffic Report

After Cloudflare is connected, open the Cloudflare AI Bot Tracking section and run a report. NeuraCite will show a traffic summary and the relevant rows based on the available Cloudflare data.

The report can help you understand which bots are visiting the site, which URLs they are requesting, and whether those requests are successful or blocked. This information is useful when diagnosing AI crawler access or reviewing whether important bots are able to reach key pages.

Using Advanced Filters

Advanced filters help narrow the bot traffic report to a specific time range, user agent, URL path, request source, HTTP status code range, bot detection IDs, or result limit. These filters are useful when you want to investigate a particular bot, page, or traffic pattern.

For example, you may filter by a specific user agent to check whether a known AI crawler has visited the site. You may also filter by path to see whether the bot accessed a specific product page, blog post, or landing page.

Built-In Bot Presets

NeuraCite includes built-in presets for common AI bots such as GPTBot, ChatGPT-User, OAI-SearchBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, and Google-CloudVertexBot. These presets apply known user-agent and detection filters so users do not have to configure each filter manually.

The presets are designed to make common bot investigations faster. They should be used as a starting point, especially when checking whether major AI crawlers are reaching the website.

Common Cloudflare Issues

If Cloudflare reports that the zone cannot be found, check that the Account ID, Zone ID, and API token all belong to the same Cloudflare account. If no traffic appears, try widening the date range or removing filters. There may not have been matching bot traffic during the selected period.

If bot detection IDs do not work, the current Cloudflare plan may not expose those identifiers. In that case, use user-agent filters instead. If the report range is too large, reduce the selected time window so it stays within the supported Cloudflare analytics range.
